Happy 4 Monthday Rory! (yesterday)
It's a rainy February here in Seattle....
Rory is mastering the smile...well, kind of. He's stubborn like his great-grandma (and like his mom) so he chooses when smiling seems appropriate. Often when the "wipers go swish swish swish" he'll smile, and he loves when Joe gets into a good giggle (but Joe has the best giggle). Other than that, he smiles first thing in the morning, and then choice fully throughout the day. But when they come, they are SO good.

| Nice hair, dude! |
Our greatest updates are the very special visitors we have had the past two weekends! Michelle came out to visit two weekends ago and we had such a great time introducing her to Rory. Then, Lauren came up last weekend! Rory felt pretty special that she flew across the entire country to be with him. It was a great weekend. We enjoyed showing Lauren some our favorite Seattle spots and Rory enjoyed sleeping on her. He seems to just love her. On Monday, Lauren and Rory spent the first half of the day together while I went to work, and then the three of us went out adventuring. I loved having her here, we really miss her already. Looking forward to another visit that includes Uncle Nathan!

While Rory really is thriving (weighs 14 lbs 8 oz, though most of it is stored in his cheeks) the past couple of months have been rough on his reparatory system and on our sleep. He got his first cold over Christmas and has not come out of it since. The cold seems to change forms and for the past 3 weeks we've in the coughing stage. About 3 weeks ago after he began vomiting from coughing, they told us he has bronchialitis, and unfortunately there was no magic medicine for it - that it should only last 2 weeks. Well, Thursday of last week marked the 14th night in a row that he was up for over an hour at night coughing until he vomited and I was done. I called the doctor pretty much begging for her to do something. They finally gave him antibiotics, and he was better in just one day! Praise the Lord!
Have I mentioned that our nanny is amazing? Truly. She and her daughter, Hannah are our angels. Last week they watched Rory at our apartment because Fin has been sick. (Very sick, actually, though doing much better now. Poor boys.) Not only did we come home on Tuesday to a happy, well-fed, clean-diapered, rested Rory, but our ENTIRE APARTMENT had been organized and cleaned! She'll say she didn't clean, but trust me - it was clean! Even our linen closet looked miraculous. Our home has never looked as good as it did! She's amazing.
Other than that, things have been good and normal around here. Now that Rory is feeling better we're all sleeping more. Other than that, we play under the activity mat, bounce in our bouncy chair, and swing...in between snuggling with Mom or Dad.
And in case you were wondering what Rory looks like at 4 months...here's a few pictures!
Love you all!
