Wonderful News x2

What a week I've had.  Granted, most of it has been lazily laying on the couch avoiding anything to do with preparing for our move downstairs on Friday.  However, there have been some big movements in between the naps.

Yesterday was our doctor's appointment.  After some talk of indigestion, bloating, restless legs, etc, I got to hear our little baby's heart beat!  It was loud and clear and beating at 156 beats per minute.  There was a loud rumbling noise which the doctor said was the baby moving around!  He expects I'll be able to feel those movements in the next month!  So everything looks good.  The only disappointing part of the visit was that my mom's June visit lies one week too early for the next ultrasound.  Guess that's all part of the big plan, but will be wishing she was there when we find out if its a girl or boy in late June.

Then...today I got a job!!!!!!!!!  And to make it even better, it's the job I wanted at the OmniGroup.  I'll be a support ninja (always wanted to be a ninja turtle, so this is close enough) and will answer support questions for their Apple software products.  Some major highlights of the job:

Amazing company, started in Seattle in '95.
Less than a mile away from home.
Great starting salary.
And FREE health insurance for our whole family!!!

I feel very blessed and thank everyone who was praying and rooting for me.  I start next Tuesday!  I just thank God!

So a healthy baby at 15 weeks and an awesome job...I need to count my blessings today.

Week 15 - Back from a visit to the midwest

For those of you who we were lucky to see during our week visit to St. Louis/Illinois, it was wonderful to see you!  And for those of you who we missed, we love you too!

Our visit was wonderful, though maybe not relaxing!  We were jam packed full of things to do and people to see!  Not limited to, but including Dave's college graduation and a Carmody baby shower!

I think the flight home really incapsulates the exhaustion that a week on the run (while pregnant) does for me these days.  We were scheduled to lay-over in Denver but were forbidden to land due to thunderstorms.  After circling the airport for 20+ minutes, with an estimated wait time of 1 hour, our pilot decided we did not have enough fuel.  We then landed in Colorado Springs where we sat in the hot plane for 1 hour.  We then took off again to Denver, landed 2 hours late and of course missed our plane to Seattle.  We were fortunate that another plane was about to take off, and had enough time to grab some McDonald's.  While the storm had passed, the aftermath was a bumpy take-off which landed me in the airplane bathroom puking.  In case you've never had the pleasure, avoid it at all costs - it was horrible!  Luckily, dropping the line that I'm pregnant gets sympathy from even frustrated flight attendants so I was treated like a queen the rest of the flight.  It was wonderful to land in Seattle...of course our bags didn't make it...and we were relieved because I had an interview first thing Thursday morning.

While the trip was exhausting, it is always worth it.  Some highlights included giving our newly adopted nieces/nephew lots of squeezes.  If you want your heart to melt, here is snippet of the love they gave in return!

The whole Rosenberger family was together in Carbondale to watch Dave cross the SIU Carbondale stage for graduation!

And as always, our family was incredibly generous to us to celebrate Little Rosey's coming with a baby shower!  So many beautiful women in one room at Grandma Carmody's house!  Aunt Chris and Meghan really went all out in making the party beautiful!

The greatest surprise of all was when Lauren and Nathan surprised me!  They flew in from Philly for just a 30 hour visit to celebrate with us!  We were so glad to have them there, and certainly our mom was thrilled to be with both of her girls!

And among many generous gifts was a quilt my Grandma Fix-It had made many years ago in preparation for this day!  We went down to Jackson to visit thank her in person!  She is now 97 years old and still waiting for the Good Lord to open her door!

Little Rosey seems to be doing well.  We have our next doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and then only one more month until we find out if it is a boy or girl!  I can't wait to hear the heartbeat tomorrow.  I am also excited to tell Little Rosey that he/she was growing during a great period of history - Oprah's Farewell season!  While I'm anxiously awaiting 2 phone calls about potential job offers, I secretly hope that the start dates wouldn't be until the last episode on Wednesday!  I've probably only watched Oprah a handful of times in my life...that is until my recent bout of unemployment.  I'm hooked.   Joe thinks it's ridiculous.

So hopefully I'll be back here tomorrow with wonderful news about Little Rosey's progress and, if we're lucky, a new job!

Thanks for all the love!

Week 13

Hello Everybody!  You can now come to expect that a lack of blog posting means lack of excitement in the adventure of Little Rosey - which is good (though maybe boring for you).

Anyways, we've had about 2 weeks of peace and quiet in the pregnancy - no red flags, unexpected ultrasounds or infected organs.  Life, however, rarely is without excitement around here.

Today is a HUGE day for our family because today we officially became Aunt Robyn and Unkie Joe of Cora, Melia and Peyton Maier!  Yep, today was a triple adoption!  Years in the making it is hard to believe that today made it all official but we couldn't be happier for Geoff, Stacey and the kids.  Here's a picture from their big day at the courthouse - we only wish we could have been there.

This weekend we accompanied our friend Derek to Vancouver.  We originally had this trip planned with our friend Tommy when an appendectomy got in the way - so we tried again and this time were successful.  Derek was heading there to run a half marathon (which he dominated) and we just took advantage of the beautiful weather.  The city was beautiful and I still can't comprehend that after just 3 hours in the car we must use a different currency.  (A lot of different currency - it is SO expensive there.  $5.30 for a gallon of gas.)

And on the baby front - things seem to be progressing....if the growth of my stomach is any indication anyways.  I am about to pop the button on my last pair of jeans that fit, so today I went to Target and tried to find a new wardrobe.  For better of worse it isn't the type of weight gain that triggers anyone to think I'm pregnant.  They probably are wondering what I've been eating for dessert as of late.  I'd have lots of answers about my dessert cravings if someone were bold enough to ask!  Today was also my first day of unemployment.  I'm hoping it is one of few so I'm trying to enjoy it.  I visited Joe at work and met all of his colleagues.  No surprise to me but you just can't even describe how much those people love him there.  I am so happy he is surrounded by such good people...and that those people can see just how good he is.

Books make it confusing - but while today is the first day of the thirteenth week it may or may not be the beginning of the second trimester.  But each week we feel like we've jumped a huge hurdle and are happy to be about 1/3 the way there!  The terrible symptoms seem to be fading as has been promised to me and I'm happy to say goodbye to the nausea and general discomfort.  So for now, if feeling fat is the worst of it, I'll take it!  We imagine the baby is about 2 inches long now and full of its own features down to hair follicles and fingernails.  We're less than 2 months away from identifying its gender and we just can't wait to find out!

We'll be seeing most of you around the midwest late next week and we can't wait!  I'm up for Imo's Pizza for anyone who is game.  Hope everyone is well.

Love,
Robyn
