9 weeks to go!

9

No blog posts in awhile means I have lots of updates for you!

Let's start with the most exciting news…we are in the single digits of our countdown with less than 9 weeks to go!  Hard to believe that it's actually in sight!  We're getting really excited to meet the little guy!

He's been keeping us well informed that he is doing well by continuing to perform kicks and rolling around each night when we talk to him.  There's really nothing quite like feeling a baby move inside of your body.  I hope I can hang on to this feeling well after he is born, because it certainly is quite surreal for now.

So, since I last wrote, we celebrated our 1 year wedding Anniversary, Eli's 1st Birthday, and started our Birthing class.  We had a great Anniversary and celebrated it by going to the Sounders Game (Seattle's Professional Soccer Team), a nap, dinner and a movie.  Couldn't ask for much more!

Eli's birthday party was awesome as well, and he performed the task of cake-eating perfectly!

We were really excited to begin our birthing class and go to our second week of it tonight.  It is an 8 week series so we should finish up the class with just a couple of weeks to spare.  In the world of birth education, it turns out we go the Queen as our teacher!  Her name is Penny Simkins and she has led the movement for childbirth education since 1968!  There are probably about 12 other couples in the class, all with a due date a week or two apart from ours.  While the first week was primarily orientating us to the class, they did pop in a birth video right away to get things started!  So we can check that off our list!  We don't really know what all to expect from the class - 16 hours of information seems like a lot - but we're excited to soak it all in.

In between work, celebrating things, and taking naps, we're trying to get our little guy's room ready for him!  I think we have all of the furniture now - just not sure exactly where to put it!  We were lucky to receive a free glider chair, and found the sweetest old dresser from someone at the Farmer's market.  Joe's boss took us on a trip to Baby's R Us to figure out what we're going to need, so I'd say we're well on our way…with a lot of work ahead of us!

My belly is growing…Joe is excited for my belly button to pop out…I could do without that feature!  But we're feeling good!  I woke up this morning with the first symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and the acid just won't stay down in my stomach, and I'm EXHAUSTED, but other than that, we're doing swell!
