We'll be pretty lucky parents if our little guy gets the looks of his dad, don't you think? I just love this picture!
Well, we've had an interesting baby week this week...
Tuesday our little guy turned into what we thought was an octopus moving around in my stomach. Totally freaked us out, as my stomach was moving in directions I didn't know were possible. In hopes of getting a good nights sleep (aka not staying awake worrying) we gave the doctor a call. The on-call doctor was the same one who was on-call when I ended up having appendicitis. We like him. He assured us that a moving baby is a happy baby, but to check in the next day if things didn't settle down.
Things did settle down, but we were still worried, and he was still moving (though not as erratically) 24 hours later, so I gave the doctor another call. He proactively had me come to the hospital to check that everything was okay, if only for peace of mind.
Well, we were relieved to find out that our baby is still doing great! Great heartbeat, great movement. We were surprised to learn that I was having frequent contractions. Well, after 4 hours in the hospital on Wednesday, and 5 hours in the hospital Thursday, we are home and keeping low key to try to keep everything at bay so that LJ3 can continue to grow! We'll be visiting the doctor again on Monday to solidify a plan.
On a happy note, they did an ultrasound and we saw just how cute our little guy is! It was precious and certainly brightened our day. We got to see the clearest picture of his face! And, he has hair!!! Who knew you could see that in an ultrasound!? We can't wait to see what color it is! While we were looking at him, he gave two big yawns, and then preceded to chew on his arm. It was very reassuring to see him looking so peaceful! Glad he's not disrupted by the craziness going on around him, though his octopus moves probably were in response to being squeezed so often!
So, we are thankful for a lot of things. Confused and frustrated by other things, but more thankful that we're being taken care of so that our guy can cook longer! And thankful that he has cooked long enough already to be ready for the world if need be! But, we're still planning on him hanging in there for at least 8 more weeks! :)
So that's our update...Joe is taking great care of us as always!
Love,
Robyn, Joe and our baby!
